About Me
My name is Eryn Marshall. I'm a Canberra-based artist whose work isn’t about polished perfection… it’s a colourful shout at an unexpected reflection.
My story is painted in bright colours, and it’s a tale that transcends the chaos of an all-consuming eating disorder to find not just recovery but revolution.
Dealing with an eating disorder was at first daunting. But the more people I opened up to about my struggle, the less shame I felt. Painting opened me up to a wider audience and my brush became a bridge back to myself, with each stroke pulling me closer to those around me.
Healing is possible and awareness matters. Exploration of colour helped me rediscover the optimism that’s everywhere around us if we just look for it. Now, I share my experience through my art to break the stigma of eating disorders and encourage understanding.
“Art is life, and life is messy. I know it, I live it and I paint it.”
I take the raw and the real – the bits people try to hide – and turns them into art that pops, art that smiles, art that screams… “hope wins!”
I am all about spreading hope. It’s art with a cause where every sale sees a donation to the Butterfly Foundation and inspires resilience in those who have ever felt less than enough.
Art doesn’t need to be perfect to mean something, it just needs to be real, and my art is as real as it gets.
Messy? Yes. Beautiful? Even more so.
